with Womble Bond Dickinson (US), LLP
Oct 27, 2022
Womble Bond Dickinson (US), LLP has signed up to partner with firm intelligence platform DraftWise, Inc. following a successful pilot of the company's flagship product with the firm's transactional attorneys.
DraftWise provides attorneys with access to their firm's collective intelligence during all stages of a transaction to help them draft, review, and negotiate contracts better. It combines search, comparison, proofreading, and curation abilities within a single easy-to-access platform within Microsoft Word. The software automatically integrates with a firm's Document Management System (DMS) and knowledge resources and deploys machine learning models to understand the content of each contract.
“From the very start, our attorneys saw tremendous value in the capabilities of DraftWise. The ease with which our attorneys could quickly build an accessible, sharable knowledge collection based on prior work was something we had not seen so well executed - until now. Powerful search capabilities in DraftWise mean our best contract language is quickly obtainable and easily actionable, inside Word at the time of drafting - where and when lawyers need it most,” said Bill Koch, Chief Knowledge & Innovation Officer at Womble.
“Working with Bill and the entire Womble team has been fantastic. Their feedback has allowed us to improve the value we can offer to attorneys and help everyone to promote a culture of curating and sharing high-quality knowledge resources to increase firm intelligence. Our team is really excited to continue our partnership with them,” said James Ding, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of DraftWise.
Womble is currently rolling out DraftWise as part of the firm's commitment to its attorneys to provide excellent support and the latest legal technology. Womble is committed to helping their attorneys exceed expectations when it comes to delivering for their clients.
“Ensuring that our attorneys have sophisticated tools to best serve our clients is of prime importance to us. Our commitment to continuous innovation and DraftWise's dedication to product enhancement helps ensure that our tech continues an evolutionary path to meet the progressing needs of our clients,” added Bill on Womble's innovation efforts.
DraftWise was founded by Palantir and Google engineers James Ding and Emre Ozen, and Clifford Chance lawyer Ozan Yalti. The team intends to bring advanced analytics and data management to the legal space, to enable lawyers to spend more time on the important, hard work of representing their clients. DraftWise is currently a member of Slaughter & May's Collaborate program as well as Allen & Overy’s Fuse program. Today, the company works with AmLaw100, Vault 10 and other leading firms across US, Europe, and Latin America.
